I have been doing photography for many years. As many at the age of 10-15, was experimenting with photography, filming mostly friends and pets, using old “Smena” and “Zenit” cameras. I did all the processing from developing to printing myself using dad’s equipment, while making parents unhappy because of photo-occupation of bathroom facilities. After some break got back to the hobby as a result of a business trip to Magadan (Far Eastern Russia). Initially, I was totally unwilling flying to this distant and very cold region, where I would have to drive some thousand km on a frozen road along former political prisoners’ camps up to Omsukchan in the north. Thinking I would never go there again, I bought an advanced compact camera for the trip. The trip surpassed all expectations. Stunning nature and landscapes, wonderful people and willingness to bring a little bit of this beauty with me back home inspired in me interest to photography.
From that moment I have started to really get anxious about self-traveling and photography, while a bit later, due to lack of adrenaline, got into extreme sports. Photography, self-traveling and sports made up my life triangle, where photography is often in the lead. Photography for me is a unique way to share feelings, sentiments and experiences via drawing with light, while catching shades and tints through a viewfinder; being at the same time a way of meditation and discovering the outward things and own inner life. In my opinion, getting basic photography techniques to film properly balanced and compositionally correct images is just a matter of time practice and efforts.
My aspiration is to make pictures that would give rise to emotional experiences, to be able to communicate my personal experiences and feelings from the object, place or situation, to make people smile or empathize... This is the most difficult part and this is something which I really want to achieve.
Your comments, ideas, and proposals as well as criticism are very much appreciated.
